“Wish for a rainbow” viboli kiba

It was a beautiful experience to be writing poems for children. The innocence and the pure soul of a kid is a wonderful thing. Let’s all be more kind to children. Here I’m sharing this for any reference regarding my poem.

The poem talks about a kid who loves the rainbow and wishing for it. His innocence and beautiful mind is portrayed in the poem.
The colorful words and objects like rainbow, sun, moon, star, clouds, wind, rain , bird, wings, paint, shirt are used to let the students picturize the poem.
Everyone talks about the beauty of sun, moon, clouds and star but the kid wants to be the sky because the rainbow appears beautifully across the sky. The sky is also compared to kid’s life.

No matter the hard times in life, the kid firmly believes that the rainbow will give him hope and brighten his days again. In this stanza, ‘But’ gives out a powerful and strong postive attitude of a kid, who would patiently wait for the rainbow to appear despite the bad weather.
(This can be compared to human’s life, even in difficulties, if we believe in something strongly, we still hope for better days and will be happy again.)

The kid is mesmerized by the rainbow and he even wishes to be a bird. His imagination is beautifully portrayed and His happiness is vividly seen in these lines, ‘….fly over the rainbow…..’ ‘…get the colours all over me….’ ‘….wings of rainbow….’.

The kid imagines himself playing around the rainbow that gives him happiness. He wants the rainbow for himself that he would count the colours and paint on his shirt and finally, he can become the rainbow forever.

One can also understand the innocent mind of a kid that he wants to beautify someone’s life and give happiness to his alike.

N.B. let the students know the colors of rainbow.
Every reader/ teacher has the freedom to interpret the poem in his/her own ways.
